About
In collaboration with Architecture firm CHACOL, we were tasked with creating interiors for this home that reflected a restrained modern farmhouse style, thoughtfully adapted to a semi-rural setting. Situated in Hidden Hills, an exclusive gated community nestled in the picturesque Santa Monica Mountains, this home offers a serene escape from the bustle of Greater Los Angeles. This project is the first in the area to explore a modern vernacular within the design constraints of a city known for its narrowly defined architectural guidelines. Set across 1.2 acres, the property artfully combines contemporary elements with a respectful nod to traditional styles. Designed to reinterpret the city’s restrictive covenants, the home echoes the spirit of Napa Valley through three distinct structures, each featuring luxury amenities. Highlights include a chef’s kitchen with a walk-in refrigerator, a private yoga retreat, a dedicated movie theater, and equestrian facilities. Inside, an elevator connects multiple levels, complemented by multiple kitchens, a custom wine cellar, a wellness center, and a media room. An innovative mechanized carousel showcases an automotive collection. The expansive main-level primary suite seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a private sanctuary with personalized finishes. Outside, a zero-edge pool is set amid manicured gardens and mature trees, with views of nearby equestrian enclosures. This pioneering project introduces a refined modern aesthetic to a city where architectural innovation is often constrained, standing as a landmark reinterpretation of the local design language.

"Chinmaya and her team created the most beautiful and restrained interiors. They reflect the style of our home and our preferred warm-modern color palette. The inside and outside blends seamlessly and the overall house feels grounded and cozy. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect home for a more perfect setting."
